TRIPS TO THE MOUND AND PITCHING SUBSTITUTIONS (P2-10)
Minor Mosquito, Mosquito, Peewee Girls, Minor Peewee and Peewee:
A removed pitcher (regardless of the number of trips to the mound by the manager/coach), may continue in the game at another position but is not allowed to pitch again in the game.
For Minor Mosquito and Mosquito, a manager/coach shall be allowed an unlimited number of trips to the mound without having to remove the pitcher. The umpire may limit such trips if the coach or manager's intent is to delay the game.
For Peewee Girls, Minor Peewee and Peewee, on the coach and/or manager's third trip to the same pitcher in the same inning, they must remove the pitcher from the pitching position.
Minor Bantam and above:
A removed pitcher's right to return to the pitching positions depends upon the number of trips to the mound made by the manager/coach.
A pitcher removed between innings or on the first trip of an inning is eligible to pitch again later in the game, provided the pitcher remained in the game playing another defensive position.
A pitcher removed after the second trip of an inning may continue in the game at another defensive position, but shall not be permitted to pitch again.
Regardless of the number of trips, a removed pitcher who is substituted for defensively is not eligible to pitch again in the game under the provisions of the re-entry rule.
