Middlemass Scholarship

The 2007 R. Jack Middlemass Scholarship was awarded to Brian Ivan of the Toronto Mets Midgets who will be attending the State University of New York at Binghamton.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2006 R. Jack Middlemass Memorial Scholarship.

Criteria:

  • recipient will be a well-rounded Baseball Ontario player of Midget age,
  • an active citizen of their respective community, demonstrating good sportsmanship in the game of baseball, enthusiasm and involvement in baseball and their respective community,
  • requires financial assistance to attend university or college (either in Canada or the United States), and
  • the school the student will be attending must be tax-eligble. Click here for a list of US schools that are eligible. The CCRA (Canada Customs and Revenue Agency) can search to verify eligible Canadian Post-Secondary Schools.

Value:

  • $3,500 Canadian, awarded at the time of registration at university or college, and
  • paid at the latest of acceptance or when the first tuition payment is due

Requirements:

  • eligible candidates should submit a one page point form summary outlining their involvement in baseball and the community,
  • their financial need, and why they are eligible for the scholarship
  • applications should be submitted by June 1st
