AJ Burnett Player of the Month

DESCRIPTION
The A.J. Burnett Amateur Player of the Month Award is given monthly to the finest players in the following divisions of Baseball Ontario: Rookie, Mosquito, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget.

NOMINATIONS
Coaches of the above divisions can nominate a player on their team by completing the
Nomination Form and submitting before the deadlines posted on the website. One player from each of the above divisions will be selected each month between May and September.

Nominations will be judged by three representatives of the Toronto Blue Jays based on four categories (CAPS) that speak to them not only as a youth baseball player, but also as a person. The four categories for judging are as follows:

  • COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
In what community activities is the candidate currently involved? (i.e. Boy Scouts, volunteer initiatives, etc.)

    ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
Does the candidate excel in academics? Has the candidate shown continued growth each year in school? What is the candidate's best subject?

    PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
How has the candidate performed both in regular season play, as well as tournament play? Both offensive and defensive accolades should be noted.

    SPORTSMANSHIP
Does the candidate take a leadership role on the team? Has the player exemplified great sportsmanship towards opposing teams and officials?
