Born September 25, 1952 in Richmond Hill, New York...In 2007, the former Major League catcher will enter his 12th season in the Blue Jays front office and his second in his current role as Special Assistant to the General Manager...Joined the Blue Jays in 1996 as a Major League Advance Scout...Spent all but one of the ensuing ten seasons scouting for the Club, serving one year, 1998, as the team's Bullpen Coach...Played parts of nine season with the Minnesota Twins (1980-82, 1987), Detroit Tigers (1983), Montreal Expos (1984-85), Cincinnati Reds (1986-87) and the Toronto Blue Jays (1988-89)...Batted .215 during his Major League career with eight home runs and 76 RBI...As a member of the Blue Jays, batted .233 with one home run and six RBI in 58 games...Entered the coaching ranks in 1990 in the Houston Astros organization...Managed five seasons in the minors for Houston (1990-94) being selected in 1994 as both the Texas League Manager of the Year and Baseball America's Most Promising Manager...Spent 1995 managing Minnesota's Class AA club in New Britain before leaving the following year to join the Blue Jays.
